The Client

The American Express PGA Golf Tournament is held in La Quinta, California and hosts golf fans worldwide. The American Express offers volunteer opportunities, fan experiences, sponsorships, concerts, charity, and a world-class golf championship.

The Challenge

The Amex needed a new website on a user-friendly platform that would support heavy traffic. A new design was planned featuring the American Express branding guidelines with and an easy-to-use site for visitors to buy tickets, learn about the calendar of events, get access to FAQs, locate hospitality venues, parking maps, tee times, sell sponsorships, signup volunteers, and more.

Our Solution

A new website was launched in two phases. Phase I involved launching the new website with the updated championship information. The goal was to establish a new presence with the updated designs of the year’s tournament. We created designed inspired by the beautiful Palm Springs location and followed the American Express branding guidelines throughout each page. Phase II was fan-focused as the opening of the PGA tournament neared.  This included launching ticket sales, parking maps, hospitality venue information, concert series info, and more. Once the tournament began, real-time information like tee times and player field commitments were updated daily. Once the tournament was over, many of the site pages were archived until the next year, when the phases would begin again.

The Homepage

The homepage features a central landing page that features the latest champion, a countdown to the next tournament, and links for tickets, volunteers, and sponsors.
